CCR Draft #4

In the production of this film, I utilized the iPhone 8 and its camera.  The iPhone 8 has a 12-megapixel rear camera, auto-HDR, exposure controls, and a 5X digital zoom. The iPhone 8 also has an f/1.8 aperture meaning the camera is able to let in more light, making for better shots in low light and sharper images overall. In editing this film, I used an app on my phone for iMovie. I was able to blend the clips together, add music, add voice-overs, and add text all in that app.

CCR Draft #3

My production skills have improved immensely. In the beginning, I didn't know how to put two clips together. I now know how to smoothly transition clips together, put a voice-over on top of the clips and crop the clips. Adding music to the whole thing was probably the easiest thing for me. I also learned how to add text to the film and smoothly transition the text for the credits. Due to my experience in photography, it was easy to plan out this film in my head and set everything up. The camera angles and locations came easily to me due to the experience.

CCR Draft #2

My film engages with the young adult audience and touches the heart. This film would be considered as a romance or tragedy. It has the contents of love and loss. It reaches my audience through media outreach and advertising on social network and television. With the popular plot, it relates to a wide range of families who would relate to this film. I would release this film on same day, as seen in theaters, to Netflix. I believe that same families can't afford to see it in theaters due to family issues and it relates to this film.

CCR Draft #1

Our film was a tragic drama and it involved romance and loss. We used incidental music and cheery music to portray the bad times and good times, the highs and lows, of this story. The plot was based around a couple. The male was in the Army and was injured in combat. He came home with severe brain injuries resulting in memory loss. This is a common issue in the world with families having to deal with their loved veterans being changed permanently and having to deal with it as a family.

Final Revisions/Target Audience Research

My film's target audience is young adults, since the genre of my film is tragic drama, it draws the attention and hearts of young adults and adults, probably mainly females, as it pretty much a "chick flick" with the romance level. The audience ages are ranging around 13-30. This film will most likely attract audiences from all over the country, as well as all education levels. It does have room to attract other types of audiences due to the science element of memory loss.

Revision/Research~Target Audience

FILM #2 ~ Beastly (2011)

I would consider this film to have a target audience of young adults, teenage girls and anyone who wants to watch and emotional film about love. My film targets the same audience and for the same reason I believe. The film had Vanessa Hudgens in it who was big during this time so all of the children and young adults were out to see this film. They basically persuaded young adults and children to see this movie by using a well known and popular actress in this film and making it a love story. They released this film on a DVD and in the theaters. For my film, to market it, I would release it in theaters and on Netflix. I would also promote it on social media, including Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and YouTube.

FILM #3 ~ The Notebook (2004)

I would consider this film to have a target audience of young adults, teenage girls and anyone who wants to watch and emotional film about love. My film targets the same audience and for the same reason I believe. "The Notebook" has the same plot as my film almost with the male returning home from war and finding a long lost love. The film had Ryan Gosling in it who was a huge hit during this time so all of the young adults were out to see this film. They also released music from the movie which caught young adults to look for the movie. They basically persuaded young adults to see this movie by using a well known and popular actor in this film and making it a love story. They showed this on a DVD, and in the theaters. There was also a novel released before the film. For my film, to market it, I would release it in theaters and on Netflix. I would also promote it on social media, including Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and YouTube.

Revision/Research~Target Audience

FILM #1 ~ The Last Song (2010)

I would consider this film to have a target audience of young adults, teenage girls and anyone who wants to watch and emotional film about love. My film targets the same audience and for the same reason I believe. The film had Miley Cyrus in it who was a huge hit during this time so all of the children and young adults were out to see this film. They also released music from the movie which caught young people to look for the movie. They basically persuaded young adults and children to see this movie by using a well known and popular actress in this film and making it a love story. They showed this on TV I believe. They also released a DVD,CD, and in the theaters. For my film, to market it, I would release it in theaters and on Netflix. Revision/Research

We will be changing the script also. In the first draft of the film, the female lead read the letter for the voiceover like it was an inner voice. This time we will have the male lead read the letter to the female lead.

Original:

Elena: "So what do you mean you don't remember me?"

Ryder: "I don't exactly remember what happened but i remember writing this letter."

Elena:
"Dear Elena, About a year ago when I left for the army, I was so upset to have to leave my best friend behind. I couldn't stop thinking about you and all of our memories together.  One day in combat we were unexpectedly attacked and I got hurt causing severe injuries to my head and brain causing our memories to slowly fade away. I still have enough memories of you to remember how much you mean to me but I know they will soon be gone. I just want you to know I'm sorry. Help me remember. Love, Ryder"

Revision:

     Ryder:
"Dear Elena, I wish I could tell you everything is fine but I can't lie to you. I'm being sent home next week. A few weeks ago when we were stationed along the coast, a bullet hit the side of my helmet causing severe head trauma. At first it only seemed to be a concussion until I started noticing gaps in my memory and then realizing... realizing they were slipping away from me. For now I still remember us and our life together but it could be a matter of time before ... before it's all gone. I don't want to forget us. Please. I'm so scared. Help me remember. I'll be home soon. Love, Ryder."

      Elena:
"I promise I'll never let you forget."

Revision/Research

My group has decided to revise our film in the way of changing the lead actors and also changing the main idea. Originally, the film was supposed to be two people that are in a relationship and are possibly engaged. We ended up shooting it as a friendship because it was a last minute filming and the male lead and the female lead were too close to be that comfortable with each other. We have changed the male lead to Shawn Cacciola and the female lead to Miranda Marino. The female lead and the male lead are able to connect easier and hopefully will connect on camera to create the idea we wish to portray. But other than that, hopefully there will be more chemistry on camera and we will be able to portray what we originally wanted.

Storyboard

Our film is a bunch of flashbacks. The first and final scene are before the flashbacks and current time scenes. Its about a couple who has gone through all their life experiences together as best friends, but the male gets injured at war and loses his memory and the film goes into the flashbacks until the opening title scene "Remember". Credits will show on the bottom of the screen during the flashbacks.

Feedback/Revisions

We plan on re-filming the whole thing hopefully. Changing the guy and the voice over to the guys voice so it's like he's reading it to her. We also will change the girls' outfits throughout the different clips. Probably will change the music too so it sounds a bit more "depressing" since it is a sad story.

Schedule Filming

All was shot in same day which was mistake. Only one shot on different day was the beach scene.

Shotlist

-Christmas Tree at University Town Center
-Siesta Key Beach (over the shoulder of Elena staring at water)
-Waves
-View of phone while Elena messages Ryder
-Side angle of Elena honking horn
-Over the shoulder of both Elena and Ryder next to each other
~FLASHBACKS~

-high angle of Elena and Ryder laying in grass
-rising angle of Christmas tree
-far angle from Elena and Ryder eating
-far shot of them skipping
-camera held in place as they skipped over to camera

Script

Elena: "So what do you mean you don't remember me?"

Ryder: "I don't exactly remember what happened but i remember writing this letter."

Elena:
         "Dear Elena,

Research #5

Movie #5: Safe Haven

In the opening of this film (two minutes), the first shot is a shot of the house and it jump cuts to a girl running out of the house holding a bag. She seems scared and you can hear her panting from running. She runs to a house and bangs on the door to let her in. All of the sound in this is heard and seen. None of the jobs are listed in the first two minutes, but the title is previewed after the two minute mark and then the main characters are listed along with the casting director, costume designer, music supervisors, music, editor, production designer, director of photography, line producer, co-producers, executive producers. producers, screenplay, and director. The music after the title is shown is a very calming and peaceful music that isn't seen. This films budget was $28 million and the film made almost $98 million worldwide. This film has won the ASCAP Award and then Golden Trailer Award and been nominated for a Grammy award.

Research #4

In this opening of this quite popular film, the plot isn't really explained in the two minutes. It introduces the few main characters and social media. The opening shot is the camera starting out low and blurring into the main character on the computer. There is a lot of eye-to-eye shots when she's looking at the computer and then it goes to the computer and what she is looking at and typing. There is a few close-up shots which show her expression towards the comments made on the computer. There is dialogue in the opening of this film between her and her mother and her comments towards the texts. The sound throughout the opening is a song that is heard but not seen anywhere. The jobs featured in the beginning are the main characters, music, editor, production designer, director of photography, executive producers, producer, writer, and director. The films budget was unknown since it was released as a TV film before a DVD film. I was also not able to find how much money it made. But the film did catch enough peoples eyes to earn some awards, such as, the Canadian Screen Awards and the Prism Awards.Image result for cyberbully film
